How well does this less costly Roomba clean, which is undoubtedly the question you’re all asking.

Overall, Roombas cleans exceptionally well in my opinion, and this robot is no exception.

II tested several robot vacuums, and the Roomba i3+ EVO performed better on hardwood than any of them. To determine how much debris the vacuum picked up, I spread out flour, coffee grounds, kitty litter, and pet hair on my hardwood. I ran it through two cleaning cycles and compared the before and after pictures.  All of the grounds and hair were picked up, but only around 5% of the litter and 10% of the flour were left.

On carpet, I ran the same test, and the i3+ EVO’s performance was nearly as amazing.The Roomba gathered up almost all of the dirt, trash, and hair, leaving only a small amount of flour behind—a substance that most vacuums have trouble with.

The Roomba i3+ EVO’s corner cleaning was superior to other robot vacuums after I fanned out a teaspoon of flour 4 inches from the corner and then ran the robovac through two cleaning cycles. Using images taken before and after, I calculated how close it came to the corner.

Corners with carpet and hardwood flooring were avoided by the Roomba by less than an inch, which is excellent. It performed significantly better on the hardwood, cleaning up 80% of the flour. On carpeting, however, it only took up 50% of the flour, which is about typical for the robot vacuums we’ve tested.

The i3+ EVO’s cleaning is enhanced by dirt-detection capabilities, which cause the robot to make additional passes in areas where it detects excessive material.  during testing, I observed this function, as the vac continued returning to the regions where I had placed debris.

• The clean base station empties the robot’s dustbin for you

People who choose the I3+ will benefit from the clean base station’s hands-free features. This model, like all other Roomba auto-emptying options, uses a bagged system with a 2.5-liter capacity.

The automated dirt-disposal base on the Roomba i3+ robot vacuum is my favorite feature since, unlike with most robot vacuums, I never remember to empty the little dustbin, which prevents it from doing its job. • Systematic navigation (cleans in straight lines)

I’m astonished that coverage in this test was so close to 100%, despite the fact that this navigation technology is less expensive and less precise than camera- or Lidar-based navigation. A gyroscope and floor tracking sensor on the Roomba i3+ measure speed, distance, and direction to produce a map.

The robot must create a new map each time it starts cleaning because its navigation technology is not as accurate as Lidar and camera-based navigation. Also,I always spend a few minutes picking up little objects from the floor before starting the robot because there is no front sensor that would identify small objects on the floor and this could result in becoming caught on socks or cables.

• It can work as well in low-light conditions

Fortunately，the optical sensor underneath will not have any problems operating even in complete darkness, therefore not having a camera has the advantage of working in low light without any problems.

• Efficient and thorough, which is unusual for a floor sensor and gyroscope-based robot vacuum.

While Roomba doesn’t have the same strong suction as some of its competitors, the innovative dual-brush design allows it to take up all the dirt, sand, and small particles astonishingly well. I’ve heard a lot of positive things about how excellent cleaning carpets are.

The Roomba i3+’s capacity to detect dirt, which causes it to automatically perform one more pass in unclean areas, is one of its major competitive advantages.
